Advanced First Aid Training for the Outdoors delivered at a specialist Mountain Rescue Training Centre. 

Remote Emergency Care - Level 4 (REC4)

This two-day course is designed for those playing or working in remote areas and builds on previous training. 

In order to attend a level 4 course, participants are required to have completed a Remote Emergency Care - Level 3 course (or equivalent) within the last two years.

In addition to Level 3 skills topics covered include:

• Airway management including Suction, adjuncts and the use of a Bag Valve Mask
• Control of bleeding utilising Direct & Indirect pressure, Tourniquet, Wound Packing, Chest Seals
• Field closure of a wound
• Stabilisation of Pelvic and Femur fractures
• The Care principles of helmet removal (closed adventure sports helmet)
• Focused Spinal Assessment in accordance with the WMS Algorithm
• Construction of a full hypothermia wrap
• The safe administration of IM Adrenaline and Salbutamol
