First Aid Training for the Outdoors delivered by one of the busiest Remote Emergency Care Instructors in Ireland. 

Remote Emergency Care - Level 2 (REC2)

A two day course that delivers a firm grounding in the skills required to assist someone in need and dealing with incidents far from medical help with the minimal equipment you would carry while participating in or leading outdoor activities.

The emphasis is on practical skills with plenty of hands-on practice including lots of outdoor scenarios. This course can be tailored to the requirements of special interest groups, for example climbers, mountain leaders, paddle sports instructors etc

Candidate must be 16 years of age. No previous training required.

  • Patient Assessment, both Medical (DR ABCDE) and Trauma (DR CAcBCDE)
  • The safe airway position
  • The management of an obstructed airway
  • Haemorrhage control
  • Treating Shock
  • Bandaging Techniques
  • Splinting Techniques
  • Treatment of Burns
  • Dealing with Common Medical Emergencies
  • Dealing with Environmental Medical Emergencies
  • CPR and AED
  • Airway Management and Movement of a suspected spinal injured patient
