First Aid Training for the Outdoors delivered by one of the busiest Remote Emergency Care Instructors in Ireland.

Remote Emergency Care - Level 1 (REC1)
A one-day practical course with a minimum of six hours focusing on first response skills - the skills required to deal with a life-threatening incident when an experienced first aider is not available. The course involves plenty of hands-on practice including outdoor scenarios. Recertification every two years.
Candidate must be 16 years of age. No previous training required.
Topics covered include:
- Patient Assessment, both Medical (DR ABCDE) and Trauma (DR CAcBCDE)
- The safe airway position
- The management of an obstructed airway
- Haemorrhage control
- Treating Shock
- Bandaging Techniques
- Splinting Techniques
- Treatment of Burns
- Dealing with Common Medical Emergencies
- Dealing with Environmental Medical Emergencies
- CPR
