Stop the Bleed

Did you know Remote Emergency Care Instructors must undertake Continual Professional Development (CPD)?
This commitment has seen me travel to Iceland (Avalanche Rescue) and Scotland (8th International Symposium on Accidental Hypothermia). More recently I attended our "Stop the Bleed" CPD training day where we covered:
Overview of bleeding
- American College of Surgeons Classes of Acute Haemorrhage, Hypothermia, the Haemorrhage Triad and the Coagulation Cascade
Wound dressings
- Heads, Necks, Armpits, Groin
Wound packing
- Discussion and a Practical session
Tourniquets
- Reviewing recent evidence from Ukraine and the literature, followed by a Practical session with various Tourniquets
All serious stuff and all feeding into our courses.
Would you consider taking a Remote Level 4 - Advanced First Aid course? As the saying goes…
"When the s#it hits the fan, people don't rise to the occasion, they sink to the level of their training"
