601

Not the roundest of numbers, but that's the number of Remote Emergency Care Certificates I've issued since becoming a REC Instructor in 2022.
That's 601 people who've given up a portion of their valuable time and hard-earned cash. That's a number which staggers and somewhat humbles me. Never when I started out on this path did I think it would take off as it has. I really enjoy delivering First Aid training. Hopefully this shows through. Thanks to every single one of you.
An International Mountain Leader Assessor once told me I'd 3 jobs to do as an IML– keep clients safe, educate them and if they weren't on for that, entertain them. Wise words.
Now as an educator I still hold those jobs dear, just with a bit of re-ordering!
For the statistically minded the breakdown of courses attendances are:
- Remote Emergency Care 1 (REC1) – 45 people 7.5%
- Remote Emergency Care 2 (REC2) – 26 people 4.3%
- Remote Emergency Care 3 (REC3) – 521 people 86.7%
- Remote Emergency Care 4 (REC4) – 9 people 1.5%
p.s. I've awaiting another 12 certs which are in process…
